Types of Bank Exams:
Generally, the bank examinations are of the following types:
• A series of Common Written Examinations (CWEs) conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a prerequisite for the selection of personnel for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee / Clerk / Specialist Officer posts in 21 Public Sector banks (including BMB & IDBI) and for Officers and Office Assistants in Regional Rural Banks
• Exam conducted by SBI and SBI Associate banks for recruitment to the posts of clerks and officers
• Exam conducted by Private Sector banks for recruitment to the posts of Clerks and officers
• Recruitment by Private banks and PSBs through one year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance(PGDBF) course in Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd. Bangalore (MaGE) and Nitte Education International Pvt Ltd. Greater Noida (NEIPL)
About IBPS Common Written Examination(CWE)
The Banking Industry is recruiting in a big way. In the next few years, banks will have to recruit lakhs of candidates. IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts series of CWEs in a year - once for each of PO (General Banking Officer - GBO), Clerical (Single Window Operator - SWO), Specialist Officers for recruitment into the Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks to cater to the need of the industry and also to the needs of job aspirants. This means that aspirants are clear about when they should apply, and can plan their preparation in an organized and effective manner. The first ever CWE for PO/MT was held in September 2011, for Clerks it was held in November 2011, for Specialist Officers it was conducted in March 2011 and for RRB in September 2012.
Eligibility Criteria - Bank Exams
PO-IBPS CWE (PO/MT) for PSBs Age-20-30 Years, qualification-Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification
Officer Scale II - 21-32 yrs.
Officer Scale I - 18-28 yrs.
SBI/SBI Associate Banks PO, Age-21-30 Years, qualification:Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university / college
Clerk
IBPS CWE (Clerks) for PSBs,Age-20-28 Years,qualification:Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification
IBPS CWE (Office Assistants) for RRBs, age:18-28 Years,qualification:Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent. Proficiency in local language is mandatory
SBI/SBI Associate Banks Clerks, age:20-28 Years, qualification:Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification
How to apply:
Before applying online, candidates should
• scan their photograph and signature ensuring that the both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications as given in the notification.
• Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted
• Keep the necessary details/ documents ready in order to make online payment of the requisite application fee.
• have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results
Fee payment: Candidates have the option of making the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges through the ONLINE mode only.
